Simply beautiful
Delphinium is perfect for my cottage garden. Being tall flowers I planted them in the edge (I planted the flowers in the order of size so that they do not cover each other).
Next to Delphinium I also have tall flowers such as Lilies or Phygelius Devil's Tears.
I also use Delphinium in floral arrangements in containers.
I think they should be fed permanently because sometimes after the first flower, the next ones do not grow so big. So the next year I have to feed them constantly
I love this flowers.
The only issue is that sometimes the stem is too thin and too tall and needs to be supported.
All delphiniums were bought and planted in 2020, so I have no experience after a winter, to see how it turns out again in spring time.
I hope it appears every spring again ... and again ...😊
Pruning: After flowering, cut down all growth to ground level. If fed and watered well, a second flush of flowers will be produced in autumn.
Pests: May be attacked by leaf miners and caterpillars
Diseases: May be subject to powdery mildews if too dry, delphinium black blotch, crown rot and a virus
