Delphiniums are popular in cottage-style gardens for their summer colorful flower tips in beautiful shades of blue, pink, white and purple.
Delphinium is perennial and they prefer moist, cool summers and do not fare well in hot, dry weather.
The flowers also dislike sudden wind or rain and sometime need staking.
Delphinium planting is normally at the back of the bed, where flower spikes can reach 1.8 m tall.
