Spread: 60 cm
Growing conditions: Full sun
First Summer 2020
When I bought it in the middle of Summer, I planted it directly in the ground (it was in full bloom). The flowers are spectacular and the evergreen foliage is a beautiful green / silver. It's passed pretty quickly so I still can't say how prolific it is. What I can say is that it has developed well, healthy without disease. Next summer I will keep you posted on how it blooms when planted in the ground (not in greenhouses with controlled climate as it is when you buy it from garden centers).
That's the idea, isn't it? 😊
French lavenders are more and more widely available, but they need some special care compared to their English cousins.
Deadheading
Deadhead French lavender regularly throughout the summer. This prolongs the flowering and creates new growth the following April/May.
Harvest
All flowering season.
Pruning
In late summer or early fall cut at least two thirds of new growth back into the old wood. This leaves new shoots below the cut which is next season’s new growth.
