Maria Sklodowska Curie

Deciduous climber
Colour: White
Height: 2.5 m
Spread: 1 m
Flowering: In early summer with a second flowering in late summer
Growing conditions: Full sun, Partial shade

First Summer 2020
Position: east facing
Planted in late fall in 2019
Unfortunately, at the first flowering, it made quite a few buds, but they did not bloom. The clematis dried completely.
I cut it from the base and after 2 weeks they gave it new shoots. It grew quite quickly about 1m and in early Autumn made one flower that opened completely (it is the one in the picture).

The flower is incredible, double with pointed petals.
It seems that this clematis does not do very well in the shade of the fence.
I give it another chance next year to reach the top of the fence to see how it handles when it reaches full sun.

I will come back with an update in 2021

Clematis Maria Sklodowska Curie didn't come back in spring time.
Tips: This clematis need to be planted three to four inches deeper in the ground than they are in the pot.
Giving additional winter protection is also advisable.
