Peacock Orchid

Peacock Orchid
Peacock Orchid - Summer of 2021

Botanical name: Gladiolus Callianthus.
Corms.
Sweet fragrance.
Flowering period: August to October.
Colors: White with burgundy center.
Height: 1 m
Spread: 0.4 m
Growing conditions: Full Sun.
Hardiness: Frost tender.

Planted - early February 2021 (pot)
When I planted them I was susceptible. I liked the leaves (it looks like Crocosmia) a different shape in the garden.
The flowers are delicate, beautiful and long lasting.

Everyone should have some of these in their garden.

At the end of August I planted them in the ground. I'm curious if it lasts over the winter.

How to plant Peacock Orchid bulbs:
Plant corms in soil about 4 times deeper than their height (10-16cm)
Plant then as soon as the danger of frost has passed.
If you live in zone 7 and above, you can let the corms in your garden.
Otherwise, move them indoors before the temperatures start dropping in the fall.
In the winter, keep the corms dry.
