Phygelius Devil's Tears

Planted in the ground in mid-summer 2020

In the first summer it didn't go very well. The flowers that had them withered quite quickly and did not bloom at all, but overall the plant grew quite well. I will see how it blooms next summer.


Phygelius are evergreen or semi-evergreen shrubs, usually grown as herbaceous perennials.
Colors: Deep pink flowers with orange lobes and yellow throats.
Flowering: Summer and Autumn.
Height: 1.5 m
Spread: 1.5 m
Growing conditions: Full sun

Pests: Capsid bug may be a problem.
Diseases: Generally disease free.
Pruning: Cut back to base in late spring or pruning group 9
